Oven Controlled Crystal Oscillators (OCXO)
An OCXO places the crystal resonator in a temperature-controlled oven so the reference frequency remains stable over operating temperature. It is chosen when reference drift is more critical than size or power consumption.
Typical use
OCXO references appear in radar timing, satellite terminals, base-station equipment, precision test instruments and synchronized RF systems.
Data to confirm
Relevant data includes nominal frequency, stability over temperature, aging rate, warm-up time, phase noise, Allan deviation when provided, supply voltage, oven power and output format.
