RF cable assembly validation
Cable assembly validation checks coaxial cable sets, test leads and microwave interconnects after assembly. The purpose is to confirm that the finished cable path keeps the required loss, match and repeatability when it is installed or moved in a real bench, rack or subsystem.
Validation boundary
The work focuses on the cable, connectors, strain relief, shielding and bend condition rather than the connected module. A cable can pass continuity but still fail RF use because of return loss, phase shift, intermittent contact, jacket damage or connector torque variation.
Data to retain
Useful records include cable type, length, connector family, bend radius, assembly revision, insertion loss, return loss, phase or delay data, test frequency, handling condition and the calibration state of the measurement path.
