LDMOS Transistors
LDMOS transistors are laterally diffused MOS devices built for RF power generation at practical supply voltages. They are common in power amplifier stages that need stable operation, rugged load behavior and predictable thermal mounting.
Typical use
LDMOS devices are used in broadcast amplifiers, industrial RF generators, communication base-station hardware, avionics transmit paths, driver stages and RF test systems with defined impedance and cooling conditions.
Engineering data
- Drain voltage, output power, gain, efficiency, ruggedness and operating frequency describe the transistor envelope.
- Input and output matching, package flange, thermal resistance and bias sequencing shape the amplifier design.
- Load-pull data and reference circuits connect the device rating to a real PA board.

How to Select and Verify RF ICs, MMICs and Semiconductor Devices
Turn an RF semiconductor shortlist into an executable design decision by controlling datasheet conditions, reference planes, stability, bias and protection, package and PCB interfaces, thermal limits, fixture removal, production spread and acceptance evidence.
