Broadband RF power amplifiers
Broadband power amplifiers are used when one RF output stage must operate across a broad frequency range without changing hardware for each band. The useful result is not only peak power at one frequency, but controlled output power, gain behavior and waveform handling across the specified band.
Engineering focus
Compared with a narrowband high-power amplifier, a broadband PA usually trades some peak efficiency or tuned output margin for frequency coverage and repeatable behavior. Band edges, gain flatness, saturated and linear output levels, harmonic content, spurious response, supply current, heat rise and mismatch tolerance should be considered under the actual waveform and load condition.
