Wilkinson RF power dividers
A Wilkinson divider is a matched transmission-line network that creates equal, in-phase RF output paths while an isolation resistor limits interaction between the output ports. It divides power; it does not divide frequency. The same reciprocal network may be used for combining only when the source relationship and the manufacturer's power conditions support that direction.
Compare usable frequency range, port count, ideal split loss, excess insertion loss, amplitude and phase balance, output isolation, return loss and temperature behavior at the same reference planes. Average and peak input ratings alone are not enough for a combiner decision.
For combining, define source coherence, amplitude and phase error, failed-source behavior, load VSWR and the power that can be dissipated in the isolation resistor. Acceptance should terminate every unused port and record full-band S-parameters plus representative-power thermal behavior.
