IF modules
IF modules handle the intermediate-frequency section after RF conversion and before demodulation, digitization, measurement or further processing. They may provide gain, filtering, buffering, switching or level conditioning so the following stage receives a stable IF signal.
Intermediate-frequency conditioning
Important data includes IF center frequency or range, bandwidth, gain, gain flatness, noise behavior, compression level, input and output impedance, filtering response, control interface, supply requirements and environmental limits. These values matter in superheterodyne receivers, radar IF channels, spectrum monitoring equipment, communication systems and RF laboratory platforms.
